DaisyUI

DaisyUI is a component library built on top of Tailwind CSS that brings semantic class names back to utility-first styling. Instead of chaining dozens of Tailwind utilities to create a button or card, DaisyUI provides intuitive classes like btn, card, and modal that dramatically reduce markup verbosity while keeping full customizability. Created by Pouya Saadeghi and released under the MIT license, DaisyUI has become one of the most popular Tailwind CSS plugins in the ecosystem.

DaisyUI 5, released in 2025, is the current major version. It works as a pure CSS Tailwind plugin with no JavaScript runtime, meaning it adds zero client-side overhead. The library ships with over 30 built-in themes and supports full theme customization through CSS variables. Because it extends Tailwind rather than replacing it, developers can freely mix DaisyUI's semantic classes with Tailwind utilities and override any style at the utility level.

The official DaisyUI documentation covers installation, component usage, theming, and configuration. The project is fully open source and actively maintained on GitHub.
